Chairman's letter:

Greetings and welcome to the Council of Chief Executives (“CCE”) website!

I am excited about the future of CCE as well as working with our Executive Committee and members.

If you are currently a member, thank you for being a part of this great organization.

If you are not a member, please consider joining this prestigious group of people.  As an experienced business leader and, perhaps, a current or former member of one or more Boards, being a member of CCE provides an excellent way to stay informed on the key issues of the day as well as an opportunity to connect or re-connect with other seasoned business leaders.

Because CCE has access to senior leaders and world-class subject matter experts in the government and private sectors, our members get the benefit of hearing from high level speakers and learning the latest updates on contemporary topics ranging from the economy, political, geo-political, national defense, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, education, and health care.

We have two meetings per year – a virtual meeting in the Spring and an in-person meeting in the Fall. The Fall meeting typically takes place in the Washington, DC area.

Thank you for being a member of the CCE or for your interest in becoming a member of the CCE. It is a marvelous organization.

The entire Executive Committee and I stand ready to answer any questions about CCE.  Please contact us at [email protected].

Harry Kraemer, Jr.

Chairman, Council of Chief Executives

CCE members interact with policy experts in an informal off the record environment.

The Council of Chief Executives (CCE) was established to provide a forum for retired and former chief executives that fosters a greater understanding of major public policy issues.
Membership is comprised of more than 100 former presidents and/or CEO’s, most of whom are former members of the Business Council or The Business Roundtable. Though no longer in their executive roles, they remain active on public company boards and are actively engaged in issues and activities that impact the business community today.

Established 2002

Here's What Our Members Say About CCE

The members of CCE have a wide range of experiences, in a wide range of industries. What brings them together is the shared experience of having served as CEO of a major company, and a continuing interest in staying engaged and up to date on the issues of the day, so they can continue to contribute. I have found the CCE gatherings to be a great way to reconnect to people I’ve known and worked with, while also connecting to a wide range of new people, as we all seek to learn from each other and from the expert speakers CCE is able to attract.

Steve Case Co-Founder, AOL. Chairman & CEO Revolution, LLC.

CCE is a useful organization for executive networking, information exchange, and continued learning. I have enjoyed both the in-person and virtual sessions. CCE keeps me informed on a variety of business and geopolitical issues, and the format is efficient and highly professional, with excellent speakers and discussion. I look forward to seeing old colleagues and meeting new ones at CCE.

Jacque Hinman Former Chairman & CEO, CH2M

Being a member of the Council of CEOs has been a fantastic experience! In addition to having access to phenomenal speakers covering everything from the global economy, national defense and the political environment, it is a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends and build new relationships. I strongly recommend becoming a member.

Harry M. Kraemer, Jr Former Chairman and CEO, Baxter International
Professor of Leadership, Northwestern University Kellogg School

I am delighted my friends Harry Kraemer and Rick Wagoner approached me 8 years ago to join the CCE. It has been an enriching and fun experience. Both the spring virtual and fall in-person sessions attract extraordinary speakers discussing major public policy and social issues. Equally appealing is reconnecting with former colleagues as well as meeting so many other CEOs.

Two annual events provide opportunities to learn from experts

The Council meets twice each year to hear presentations by nationally recognized speakers who are experts in their fields.

Considerable time is taken for members to interact with guest speakers and provide a social setting for interaction with their peers.
